The modern revival of state lotteries started in New Hampshire in 1964, and they quickly gained wide popular support.<\/p>\n
The basic structure of a lottery is quite simple. Tickets are sold for a certain sum of money (the prize) to those who want to participate. Each ticket is assigned a number, and the prizes are allocated to the tickets with the numbers that match. This arrangement is called a random lottery.<\/p>\n
